Wangen (pronounced VAHN-gen) is a beautiful, walled, historic city in the state of Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
This clean, tidy, picturesque city is loaded with restaurants, cafés, fountains — and a rich history. The city’s history dates back to the 800s. Despite major fires in 1539, 1793 and 1858, many of the old town’s most interesting architectural elements still stand.
Wangen is in the mountains and lies just northeast of Lake Constance, Europe’s largest lake. That brings plenty of opportunities to enjoy sports such as sailing, skiing, mountain biking, hiking, climbing and more.
