Smithfield, Utah, rests in Cache Valley — an agricultural area that stretches from northern Utah to southeast Idaho and is home to about 125,000 people.
Surrounded by mountains, Smithfield is an outdoor enthusiast’s dream. Ski resorts, lakes and mountain bike trails are everywhere, and six national parks are within a day’s drive.
Smithfield is only an hour-and-a-half north of Salt Lake City, home to the Utah Jazz NBA basketball team, and the location of world-renowned libraries and museums, concert venues and restaurants.

Partners bring a hunka hunka holiday cheer
It’s a busy time of year for Santa and his elves, so the king of rock and roll – along with a group of partners from the Smithfield and Logan plants in Utah – stepped up to spread some holiday cheer.
Dressed in a custom-made sequin jumpsuit, Elvis impersonator Kody, a partner at the Smithfield plant, received a warm welcome from residents and staff at the Williamsburg Independent and Assisted Living of Logan, Utah.
While Kody belted out a few Elvis tunes, other partners distributed goodie bags filled with string cheese, cookies and other holiday treats.
“I’ve helped put the goodie bags together since we started this tradition,” said Anna, a partner at the Smithfield plant. “It was fun to visit the home and see the reactions of the residents this time. It really brightens their day.”
Making holiday dreams come true for families
Sweet dreams can be hard to come by for women, men and children struggling to heal from abuse. Partners at our Smithfield and Logan, Utah, plants joined forces this year to help make the holidays a little brighter for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in Cache Valley.
Partners at the two plants took part in a friendly tree decorating contest as part of a gift collection for CAPSA, a nonprofit group that provides lifesaving support services for victims of abuse. CAPSA selected the “Sweet Dreams” tree as this year’s winner. It was decorated with night lights and candy canes, and surrounded by stuffed animals, cozy pajamas and warm blankets for those spending the holidays in the shelter or starting over.
“It’s a great cause and helps families that are in a tough situation over the holidays have a little more cheer and positivity,” said Anna, a partner at our Smithfield plant.
